More Efficient Cleaning

Hospitals are continually trying to improve standard cleaning protocols. The addition of CuVerro® touch surfaces supplement standard cleaning and hygienic practices by killing harmful bacteria* 24 hours a day with no additional training or supervision needed. The use of CuVerro® touch surfaces improves the net effectiveness and efficiency of cleaning with no added operating, training or supply costs.

Addressing the Source* of Hospital Acquired Infections

Hospital acquired infections (HAI’s) are on the rise with more than 2,000,000 infections reported every year resulting 100,000 deaths every year, that’s the equivalent of one full jumbo jet crashing every day! Typical HAI’s add 19.2 days per hospital stay with an incremental cost of approximately $43,000 per hospital stay or $35 - $45 billion annually across our entire healthcare system. HAI’s are the 4th leading cause of death and patients with infections are twice as likely to die.

Beginning in October 2012, non-rural acute care hospitals that meet or exceed performance standards established by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for at least five measures will receive higher Medicare payments from a pool of money collected from all hospitals. These measures must include certain hospital-acquired infections listed under a federal infection prevention action plan. [HR 3590, Title III, Subtitle A, Sec 3001, p. 235]

A one-time investment in CuVerro® touch surfaces, a lifetime of returns.

*Laboratory testing shows that, when cleaned regularly, CuVerro® surfaces kill greater than 99.9% of the following bacteria* within 2 hours of exposure: Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis (VRE), Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacter aerogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and E. coli O157:H7
The use of CuVerro® antimicrobial copper products is a supplement to and not a substitute for standard infection control practices; users must continue to follow all current infection control practices, including those practices related to cleaning and disinfection of environmental surfaces. This surface has been shown to reduce microbial contamination, but it does not necessarily prevent cross contamination. It should not be interpreted that CuVerro® is making claims to solely prevent HAI nor should it be implied that CuVerro® products make such claims.
